Mentoring is one of our three main areas of impact. Last month, our Class of 2023 scholarship recipients spent a short yet special week in New Orleans. In addition to spending time with their program mentor Chef Aarón Sánchez, their agenda included an array of culinary industry site visits, kitchen tours, tastings and additional mentoring meetings. They enjoyed visiting a commercial tortilleria, making pupusas, tasting local classics like beignets and boiled seafood, learning about the culinary employment diversity in big hotels, discussions with professionals about historic cocktails, pop-ups, food trucks, multi-unit restaurants, pastry roles and so much more.
Thank You to all of our 2023 New Orleans Mentorship Trip Hosts!
